Summer Family BBQ Chess Event June 20th and August 8th

2009-2010 COLORADO SPRINGS SCHOLASTIC CHESS SERIES

We are delighted to announce the schedule for the 2009-2009 Colorado Springs Scholastic Chess Series (CSSCS). The 2008-2009 season will be our eighth season and we have many exciting features and prizes.

HERE'S WHATS HAPPENING FOR THE 2009-2010 CSSCS:

1.) We are very pleased to announce the location for our eighth season. Once again, our location for the series is THE GRACE PLACE, 2403 Templeton Gap Rd. Colorado Springs, Colorado 80907. This church facility is a very youth friendly environment with many amenities. The playing area is quiet with very comfortable chairs. The "skittles" rooms are downstairs, and feature televisions and games.

2.) Again for 2009-2010 ... All participants will receive an award or prize! No player will ever go home empty handed. Awards\prizes will be different for each event.

3.) Events #1.. #3... #5...will feature TEAM TROPHIES. Events #2... #4... #6 will feature CLASS PRIZES for lower rated players in rated divisions.

4.) The names of players who do not own a chess clock will be entered into a drawing. At each of the first six events, one name will be drawn and that player will win a CHESS CLOCK. A separate drawing will be held for players who already own a chess clock. That player will win a free entry to a future CSSCS event.

5.) Again this year concessions will be made available by the GRACE PLACE staff. Last season's concessions brought rave reviews and included BBQ……Tamales…..Pulled Pork……a Chili Cook-off, and much more.
